In an effort to promote appropriate use of technology while keeping the integrity of the classroom instruction intact, the NJH cell phone policy will allow students to use their phones during designated times throughout the day.

ALL student cell phones, earbuds, air pods, or Bluetooth headphones are to remain in student lockers on silent mode or turned off between 7:50am and 2:30pm.
STUDENTS MAY ACCESS THEIR CELL PHONES DURING BREAK AND LUNCH ONLY. After these times, students are required to place their cell phones back inside their lockers for safe keeping prior to the tardy bell.
Students are not allowed to use cell phones, earbuds, air pods, or Bluetooth headphones during passing periods.

Phones that are used or visible during instructional time in the classroom, hallway, restroom, locker rooms, library, or any other location outside the classroom, will be confiscated by the classroom teacher/staff member and turned into the main office.

1ST Offense - Device confiscated and returned at the end of the day and parent contact is made.

2ND Offense - Device confiscated and returned to parent/guardian and 3 days lunch detention.

3rd Offense or More - Device confiscated and returned to parent/guardian and 3 days lunch detention. Student will also be placed on a Six Week Cell Phone Plan.

If a student uses a personal device to photograph or film another student or staff member, without expressed permission from all people captured in the image, the student will immediately be placed on a cell phone plan.
